My son-in-law (son) is going to be sentenced on Wednesday. At this point we have no clue if he will get county or state time or how long. His attorney says anything from 30 days to 2 years udge excepts his plea. Do most judges except the plea presented by the DA? My daughter has only been married to him for 2 very short weeks. We knew this day was coming, but you just are never ready for it. How do they figure out who gets work release or how soon it starts? He is charged with taking money $40,000 from a community organization. He admits it was a bad judgement call and his ex-wife was involved in this also, but she is protected as a spouse (crock). So Tom is going to do the time, but what a way to start a marriage. He is even having regrets on getting married right now....little to late. But my daughter has told him for months that she will walk right beside him through this whole thing. Then they will close this book and burn it and start a new book of life together. Since the two of them have met, he has become a completely different man. He used to be bitter, rough and tough. His own mother said she has never seen her son cry. I have seen this poor guy cry like a baby throughout this whole process. The Adult Probation people did a personality profile on him. I sent in a 4 page letter telling the judge about Tom, who he has changed, his community involvement, his work, being a great dad and so on. Others have sent letters also. Does the judge really take these letters into consideration? Sorry to ramble, but I am so upset and don't want to lose my son. I am one that needs to be the rock that holds everyone together and right now all I am is a pile of gravel. Does anyone have any suggestions to help get through this.

Hello to all. I am the wife & best friend of a man incarcerated. My husband was arrested in May 2007 and immediately locked up.
